How to Fall Through a Looking Glass
"How does one", asked the Dodo bird of Twiddle Dee and Twiddle Dum
"fall through a Looking Glass and end up not where you're from?"
Twiddle Dee and Dum looked at each other and rubbed their fat round heads
and replied, "Let's go ask the Hatter." Twiddle Dum the three he lead.
The Hatter was sipping tea and whispering in the ear
of a sleeping little dormouse that did not seem to care.
The visitors made themselves comfortable and the Hatter did the same
and madly gazing off into the distance he asked why they had came.
"Well, we want to know how one falls through a looking glass, landing
somewhere from where you started and were not consciously planning."
Hatter said, "Well that is news to me that a looking glass would let you through
without even asking if you wanted to, that is fall through, that is if you wanted to."
The dormouse opened one eye, yawned and before he closed it again said,
"Go ask Alice, excuse me now, it is time for me to go back to bed."
"You mean that silly girl sitting way at the end of the table over there
with that Cheshire grin," then the Hatter added, "and the funny long blond hair?"
"Yes, that is me, Alice," in a diminutive voice. "What did you want to know,
how to fall through a looking glass going somewhere you did not plan to go?"
"Well let me see, she said. I believe....I think...I remember.....oh that's it."
"This is what you must do, I will tell you, make yourself comfortable, have a sit."
"First you get a chair and climb up onto the oak mantle ledge,
where the looking glass rests holding steady so you don't fall off the edge."
"Then you place your face close, right against the looking glass
then a hand, then a leg to see if it will pass."
"Do not give up just wait a minute, maybe three, maybe two
and if you can see the other side you are guaranteed to fall through."
"Make sure you don't forget to pull both of your feet with you, understand?"
"Or you will just hang on the other side and never properly land."
The Dodo took notes, the Mad Hatter poured the tea,
a cup for Alice, one for the dormouse, one for Twiddle Dum and one for Twiddle Dee....

Such a creative and unique poem bkm. You have such talent. I always enjoy what you write. I like how you took Alice and the whole cast and in one short bit gave them another chapter. Thank you for sharing.
