Monday's Child 3

In a era long ago in a Kingdom known as Wonder, a princess was born to the King and Queen a fair a beautiful daughter.  The proud King was so  happy that he decided to declare a  celebration throughout the land from the highest hills to the valley near the sea.

So he called for his nobleman,
"Nobleman, let us send out a royal decree! Let it be known near and far a fair princess has come be born, and that there will be a royal day of celebration, of no work, of no toil,  no scorn.  Only song and dancing will be allowed, only joy and bliss.  Yes, a Royal Day of Celebration dedicated to Wonder's first little miss."

The nobleman bowed and looked at the King then respectfully inquired, "My fine King of Wonder, that is all very fine, very well and very good, but sire what name should I add to the royal decree. The name of the princess, born to the fair Queen, her name sire what shall that be?"

Well the King was quite taken with the thought of a name and added..."Well, let me see, I really never thought about her name.  I must ask the fair lady what that would be, then I will call you again my nobleman to finish. Yes, then we will finish the decree."

The King entered the chamber where the babe now did lay in the arms of her mother, it did capture his eye, and with love and affection he walked to her side.

"Dear lady," he asked, "Her name?"

She replied, " My Lord I am troubled in finding a name, one perfect as her presence, one as pure as the flame of love from she came and bearing the wisdom of my Lord, the courage of a lion and strength of a sword.  It must bear too the kindness of summer, the gentleness of spring, the fairness of winter and the fullness autumn does bring.  All these things it must hold to, for a day may come, true? That should she govern this land of Wonder as Queen.  Agreed My Lord?"

"Of course", said the King, " Then we will summon the faeries from all corners of the land,  and have them bring a name that fits our demands."

The faeries were summoned and soon did arrive and brought into the chamber by the infants side.  They looked down at the child their eyes close to tears for they had not seen such beauty in o'er hundreds of years, of king or of kingdoms of queens or of knights, neither prince or any princess had brought long brought such a delight.

Then they met and they pondered on name after name but one stood out louder than any that came to their minds and their hearts and they all agree , they all agreed the same.

Then returning to the chamber and with clarity and grace and with honor and wisdom they all stood in their places, each nodding as all good faeries do, that in agreement they came with a name that is true.  Truly fit for a princess filled with such light, a name of glory shining and bright as the star that she came from, from the wisdom of ages.  A name that would both honor Kingdom and sages.

The King was called in, his nobleman too, to hear the announcement of the name that would sound through the Kingdom as soon as it came.  And with pen in hand the nobleman stood ready to write as fast as he could.

Then the tiniest faerie with a slight wave of her wand said, "I announce to the Kingdom of Wonder the Royal name - be it Princess Aurora from the dawn that she came, from the heavens of wonder, from the that radiance of light.  Aurora the name for such a child of delight."

And the nobleman bowed his head, the King tip his crown and Queen smiled at her faeries well done.  Followed by a celebration heard far throughout the land knowing that Wonder has been blessed with wonderment once again.

  4. Aurora - I like that name and I used it for one of my writing piece - it's a great name for the ending

since I always read other's writing after I write mine, I never know what they might end up writing. So I think my story has some similarity to yours in the beginning

great story, I like yours better than my and your language is written more to the era, more fairytale-like than mine
