two little kittens
jumped out of bed
one with eyes blue, one with green
Mama loved both of them
no in between
she cleaned them and washed
and kissed their sweet heads
sent them to breakfast
so each would be fed
Sissy ran first
straight to the bowl
sipped up her thirst, as her belly would hold
Tabby, watched well
until she was through
then he finished the rest
not one drop
remaining
would
do
do
Mama loved Tabby, Mama loved Sis
she taught them and trained them
until the days end
then
then
kissed them and bathed them
sending them tired and clean
back to
their safe bed
where they can dream
sending them tired and clean
back to
their safe bed
where they can dream

It always amazes me how different poets are! Some tell stories and others are so caught in the image. I enjoy how you are able to weave a tale (pun intended!).t
ReplyDeleteinteresting rhythm
ReplyDeletea delightful piece
i enjoyed reading it
to the birds
at my window (don't know
how they feel about
cat poetry, though)
Lovely... interesting how you have built a rhyme scheme here... yet hidden for the most part. lovely.
ReplyDeletelovely imagination,
ReplyDeletethe details make it believable or live.
